Covered: fashion magazines for April 2010

It seems that we’ve had some duplication during April with two covers going to Diane Kruger who landed on both Marie Claire UK and, looking very dramatic, on the cover of German Vogue. Then there was Daria Werbowy who landed two covers Vogue Nippon, Dossier though she shared the honour with Anna Wintour, not too shabby.

On the celebrity side of things we had covers from Scarlett Johansson covering Elle Canada, Megan Fox on Harper’s Bazaar UK, Kirsten Dunst on V & for some reason a Peter Pan inspired cover for Belgian Elle. Though that is of course not all; Lady Gaga stripped down to her undies (did it really take all that much stripping?) on Cosmopolitan though we much preferred it when Gemma Arterton did it on the cover of British GQ. We were surprised to see David Bowie on the cover of Russia’s Esquire but not half as surprised by what was actually an exceptionally good cover from W Magazine featuring Gerard Butler & Jennifer Aniston considering it was simply a tie in for their new movie. Lastly something went wrong with Amanda Seyfried‘s lips on her Glamour cover.

The models fared much better, as usual. Apart from Daria’s trifecta we had the inaugural cover of Turkish Vogue with a personal favourite of mine Jessica Stam and Italian Vogue’s rather interesting choice of hair for Amber Valletta. Pleasing us also was the return of i-D’s iconic wink this month with three covers featuring Natalia Vodianova, Sasha Pivovarova and Freja Beha Erichsen while French Elle dedicated their cover to plus size model Tara Lynn. Veterans Kate Moss & Naomi Campbell both landed covers this month with the latter having the whole issue of Russian Vogue dedicated to her.

My winner this month though is the stunning cover featuring Australian Abbey Lee Kershaw photographed by Rafael Stahelin for Vogue Korea.
